Dior is a petite Hanoverian mare bred by Chris Roseberry. Dior showed extensively as a young horse with Hilltop Farm's Michael Bragdell. In 2011, Dior as the USDF Horse of the Year for Fillies with a median score of 81.4% and USDF ALL Breeds ISR Oldenburg Champion. She was also 2011 Reserve Champion at the USDFBC East Coast Breeder’s Championships at Dressage at Devon. As a yearling, Dior was the 2012 ISR Oldenburg DSHB Reserve Champion and placed 6th for USDF Yearling Fillies. Most recently, Dior competed in dressage through 2nd level. Dior is incredibly sweet and is happy hacking out or working in the arena. She has very nice elasticity and impulsion. 

 

Dior is remarkably similar in build to her sire, Donarweiss GGF. Donarweiss was Champion of his 30-Day Test with an overall score of 8.33. His versatility was showcased with individual scores of 9 for rideability and jumping technique. In his first season of FEI, Donarweiss was ranked 1st for the AHS/USDF Hanoverian All-Breed’s Awards. In 2009, Donarweiss won the USDF Region 8 Prix St. Georges Championships. The following season Donarweiss finished second in the AHS/USDF Hanoverian All-Breeds Awards and 11th in the nation for Intermediaire II with scores as high as 72%. Dior’s paternal granddam, Highlight, produced a total of 3 offspring, 2 of which are licensed stallions.

 

Dior’s dam, Akino, was by famous Trakehner stallion, Enrico Caruso, who produced greats such as Kostolany and Gribaldi. Dior’s maternal granddam, Aura, was a successful 1.40m jumper. Akino produced several very correct horses with beautiful gaits. Qalypso CCF, was also USDF ALL Breeds ISR Oldenburg Champion Filly. Ros, another filly out of Akino, won 1st place for ISR/OLD N.A. USDF All Breed Awards, Materiale, 4- & 5-year-old. Riesling CCF took home 1st place Dressage at Devon’s ISR/Oldenburg NA IBC, Two-Year-Old and Younger class, and 2nd for ISR/OLD N.A. USDF All Breed Awards, Yearling Colt.
